I know that the elastic modulus is a material property and has no relation with the geometry, but how can I calculate it in a HDPE pipe? The elastic modulus of HDPE material is about 0.8 GPa, but Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
The modulus of elasticity (E) is dependent upon the material that the pipe is produced from (HDPE, HDPE, etc.). The moment of inertia (I) is dependent on the pipe wall geometry. The soil stiffness is primarily controlled by the modulus of soil reaction (E’) of the backfill that surrounds the pipe.
* HDPE pipe may face; PE density of 94% of the salt water, because it is up to 96% of the fresh water on the HDPE pipe filled with water even if the water is suitable to swim in. Therefore, be reduced as far as large parts of the ground may be left floating on the water coined.

Young’s Modulus is also known as tensile modulus, elastic modulus or modulus of elasticity. When a stretching force (tensile force) is applied to an object, it extends, and its behavior can be obtained using stress-strain curve in the elastic deformation region (Known Hooke’s Law).

LONG TERM PIPE DEFLECTION Since the test materials included HDPE, PVC and ABS pipes and the test pipe sizes consisted of 300 and 400 mm, nondimensional deflection and pipe stiffness (PS) calculated at 5.0% deflections were used for the presentation.
13/11/2002· Dear Sir, In piping stress analysis thermal stresses from any software are based on Ec value of the pipe material (Cold Modulus of Elasticity) and thermal (operating) loads are based on Eh (Hot Modulus of Elasticity) value of the pipe material. Thanking you in
PE & HDPE Pipe PE100 is the third generation of pipe grade PE. It has an optimum balance of three key properties: Minimum Required Strength (MRS) – this provides long-term strength and creep resistance. Stress crack resistance (sometimes referred to as slow crack growth resistance). Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China
16/9/2004· In applying modulus of elasticity, since it changes a lot, you''d need to know where you need this parameter for. For pipe support and span calcs I used the long term about 20yrs and for thermal stress I used 1hr as I assumed the temperature changes is
The effect of low temperature on PE pipe is unique. As discussed in Chapter 3 and as shown in tables in the endix of Chapter 3, the apparent modulus of elasticity increases as temperatures are lowered. In effect, the pipe becomes stiffer but retains

PE Buckling All flexible pipe materials can be subject to buckling due to external pressure or internal vacuum and PE pipes behave in a similar fashion to PVC and HDPE pipes. Unsupported collapse pressure For pipe of uniform cross-section, the critical buckling

Although the coefficient of expansion and contraction of the TKP pipe is greater than for other materials, the forces generated by the thermal stress are much lower, since the modulus of elasticity is smaller and the pipe is capable of presenting relaxation.
suitable ring stiffness in pipes with a low modulus of elasticity, you need to work on the moment of inertia of the pipe wall, I = s 3 /12 and, therefore, on the real or “apparent” thickness (better known as “equivalent” thickness).
